Weddings and Commitment Ceremonies
No two Weddings are alike and every one that I perform reflects the beliefs and character of couple who are being married. I determine my fee for each ceremony after talking with the couple. I take into account the amount of personalization, the location, if you need me to run the rehearsal and other elements of the ceremony. In general, my fees range from $250 to $650 with lower fees for small, private ceremonies and elopements. Please feel free to call me to discuss your unique situation. Usually I can give you a price range over the phone, then we can meet in person if you wish to further discuss you plans. Typically, for elopement ceremonies, there is no need to meet ahead of time. While I can offer pre-marital counseling through the Prepare-Enrich program, I don't require it in order to perform your wedding.
I will meet you at a location that is convenient for us all. After we meet , I will leave so you can make a decision without feeling pressured. If you decide on me, you will return a contract that I will have left with you and send me a deposit. For personalized ceremonies, I will send you a questionnaire and from your responses will begin writing your ceremony. I will provide a rough draft to make sure it is everything you desire. You will have unlimited contact with me by e-mail or phone as the ceremony is being perfected. On the day of your wedding, I will be your Ceremony Coordinator. I will work with your musician or DJ on the choreography of the Processional, line up your wedding party, consult with the photographer regarding the ceremony components and after the ceremony, I will file the Certificate of Marriage with the County Auditor. You will receive a keepsake copy of your ceremony that I will send out later on.
I will require a deposit, typically $200.00 with the balance payable prior to the rehearsal or wedding. I am willing to travel for destination weddings with additional travel costs added in.
Cancellation and deposit policy: Sometimes life happens and the wedding will need to be postponed or even cancelled. My policy is to refund your deposit if I haven't already written your ceremony and if there are at least two months before your wedding. I have reserved that date for you and most likely have turned down other requests. Although this has yet to happen, if I am unable to perform your wedding because of illness or emergency, I will gladly refund the fee and assist you as much as possible in finding another officiant.
Eloping, or need to marry quickly? You don't need to go to the Justice of the Peace for these ceremonies as I offer special pricing for small, mid-week ceremonies in the Tacoma area or even in my home. Although I specialize in personalized ceremonies, I do have options for quick, pre-scripted ceremonies that will suit your needs.
On a tighter budget? For a simple,pre-scripted wedding ceremony: $200.00 within the Tacoma city limits and no rehearsal, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, November thru March. If it is during the "Wedding Season", May through October, talk to me about your situation. While I reserve this time for larger, customized ceremonies, I may still be able to honor a lower fee if I am available or if you can be flexible about the time of your smaller ceremony.
Midweek Ceremony: $150.00 within the Tacoma city limits, no rehearsal.
Travel fees: Typically, I do not charge additional fees for travel within the Tacoma, Olympia, Bremerton or Seattle areas. If your location is beyond this, additional charges may be added.
My home as your wedding location for a very small and simple wedding: $150.00 military: $125.00. This fee is usually Monday through Friday, late afternoons or evenings. If you require a weekend wedding, please call to discuss about my availability. For weddings in my home, space is limited, so please limit your party to no more than 6 people. In addition to my home, a lovely location is at Pt. Defiance Park...or the waterfront on Ruston Way, weather allowing.
In order to reserve your time and date, all elopement ceremonies require pre-payment by cash or via PayPal.
I have a digital camera for your witnesses to use to capture the ceremony. If you need witnesses for weddings I perform in my home, I will be able to provide them for an additional fee of $20.00 per witness. Please feel free to call me to discuss your situation. If the witnesses need to travel to a different location, a higher fee may apply.
